Shemara Guesthouse

The room had more than we expected: a fridge, microwave, dishes, cutlery and tea and coffee facilities. The bed was very comfortable, and we loved the incredible view. We stayed two nights and found the location handy for everything Keswick has to offer. It was newly renovated and nicely decorated. The bathroom is small and could still use an upgrade, but it did the job fine. The owners responded quickly when we contacted them. We’d definitely recommend it.

The twin room was wonderfully spacious, with fantastic views. The new owners have clearly been putting their mark on the place, and the redecorated rooms feel bright, fresh and homely. Fabulous place to stay in Keswick, and we’ll definitely return.

An absolute shambles. I booked a twin room and got a broom cupboard with bunk beds. It was filthy, with dirty washing in the hallway and disgusting bedding. The paintwork and doors were caked in muck and dust. They refused to refund me. Absolutely disgraceful, and it needs to be CQC inspected.

We had a wonderful three-night stay in room 4, with great views and a lovely clean room. The owners were really friendly and looked after us. Fresh milk was available if we wanted it, a nice touch. Great location, and there’s free guest parking right in front of the B&B. Breakfast offered four choices. Can’t wait to go back.
