The living room was roomy, with comfortable seats, a good-sized TV, and even an electric organ. I also enjoyed the excellent shower and slept well in a very comfortable bed. There’s an outdoor heated pool too. I stayed in the Squirrel bank apartment at Skiddaw Grove, where Diane greeted me warmly. The place felt homely and welcoming, was exceptionally clean, and had a fantastic view of Skiddaw. The kitchen had everything I needed, plus a dishwasher, and there was a washing machine in the bathroom. I’d be very happy to stay again.

The walk into Keswick was a lovely route through the park and along the river, about 15 minutes to the centre. It was peaceful here, with a good pub around the corner, and the B&B was clean and tidy. My en-suite was clean and spacious enough, with no obvious faults that I noticed. Breakfast was well organised and nicely presented. The full English set me up for the day, with poached, fried, or scrambled eggs, plus enough toast and cereal. The owners were friendly and relaxed. We only saw them at check-in and breakfast, but had some nice chats. There’s a decent-sized pool at the back and a lovely garden we’d have used if we’d had more time. I booked a twin room for two nights during the 2019 Keswick Mountain Festival, and thought the price was very reasonable. I’m planning to attend 2020 KMF and will stay here again if there’s a room. It was just what I wanted from a B&B in the Lakes and met my expectations.

We had a lovely weekend here in spring with a friend and our two 8 year olds. The kids spotted the pool as soon as we arrived at dusk, jumped in within five minutes, and had to be persuaded out for bed. We stayed in the apartment, a nice setup for two adults and two little ones, overlooking the pool and peaceful back garden. The guest rooms looked fine too, with the usual Lakeland guest house style. The hosts were really lovely, and the quiet spot has great views up Skiddaw, away from town. We’ll be back. Thanks, folks.

There’s a bit of bypass traffic noise, but that’s North Keswick. Otherwise, a nice compact apartment with a heated pool and great Skiddaw views. It’s about a 10 min walk into town through lovely Fitz park, with a nearby pub serving good food. Paths close by head straight up Skiddaw.

The hosts, Diane and Andrew, were really helpful, and the location was great, about a 10 min walk from town. We stayed in the self-catering apartment, which was clean, roomy, and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable, and we had excellent WiFi, a large flat-panel TV, and a Sky package.
