There are great views and plenty of hiking options in the hills nearby. The farmhouse is spacious, warm and full of character, with a big kitchen and a modern bathroom and wetroom.

We spent three nights here and had a great time, especially getting up close to the animals. The mountain view and waterfall from the front porch were wonderful. We arrived very late and nearly got lost, so get the host's directions in two steps instead of relying on Google.

The farmhouse was clean, the beds comfortable, and the Wi-Fi signal was good. There are a few gates to open and close on the way in, but we didn't mind. The drive there had absolutely stunning views. My wife, kids and I all enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

We only had two nights here and wished we could have stayed all week. The rooms are great and the views are stunning. It’s deeply remote, with nobody around for at least a mile, so getting into the village means a walk of perhaps five miles, and finding a taxi may be difficult. The drive in involves opening and closing about five gates. Near the house, the rutted road scraped the underside of our standard Mondeo, and a low car could ground out. At night, the road and surrounding land are pitch black; there’s only a small light in the courtyard. If you’re comfortable with that level of isolation, I can’t recommend the place enough. It’s warm and lovely inside, with three big bedrooms, two bathrooms, a utility room with washer and dryer, and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. There’s underfloor heating and open fires if you want the atmosphere. You only need to bring food and clothes. The courtyard parking area is surrounded by dilapidated barn houses, which adds to the feel of the place. Vodafone had no signal, while EE got a little. The satellite Wi-Fi is currently out after a falling tree smashed it. There’s a small, dated TV, plus a VHS and DVD player with a few films.

Our group of friends had an amazing stay from arrival through to departure. The hosts were welcoming and professional, and did all they could to make it special. A signboard would help guests find their way, though. We’d highly recommend the venue.
