The Edwardene

The Edwardene is in a very good spot, and the host was friendly. Breakfast had lots of choice and was very good. We stayed in the Merlin room, which is small but nice, with a comfy bed, a good shower and a view of Blencathra from the window. The shared lounge is great, with games, crisps and a drinks fridge. Parking is on the street. We were there during the Festival of the Mountains, so it was very busy.

The Edwardene made a great base for Keswick, only a couple of minutes' walk from the centre. My boyfriend and I had a great stay. Our room was clean and nice, with a kettle and tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Breakfast was lovely, there was plenty to choose from, and the service was excellent. We hope to come back this year for another hiking trip. Thanks!

Breakfast was the highlight: plenty of cereals, and the cooked food was made to order, hot, fresh and tasty. The staff service was impeccable. Mathew gave us a lovely welcome, explained everything and showed us the breakfast and living rooms, including the honesty bar. It was our first stay, and we were impressed. The location is great for Keswick and local walks. Our room was immaculate and warm, with a great view and plenty of tea and coffee for the whole visit. The bed was cosy and comfortable. There was good wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom and shower were on the small side, but warm and functional. We’d definitely recommend staying here and will be back. Thank you.

The hotel is very close to the centre, and we had a very nice stay. Matthew, the front of house supervisor, welcomed us warmly, showed us around and took us to our room. The rooms were cosy, comfortable and well kept, with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was nicely set up and served quickly. There’s no parking, so finding a space nearby can be difficult. The building is old, and the thin walls mean you can hear toilets flushing, pipes and some voices from other rooms. It didn’t disturb us, and we'd seen this mentioned in earlier reviews. We’d book again.
