Barton Hall Hotel & Spa

The grounds are lovely, and the decor is really nice. This place is easy to miss when you’re driving, but it’s a little hidden gem and well worth a visit. When I stayed in winter, the real fires made it warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, and the food was very good at expected prices. They also had a real ale option. My room was fine, though the bathroom wasn’t great and it could have used some nice pictures. The Spar is very impressive. It was too cold for me to be outside that time of year. I’d recommend it for a short stay, or longer if you’re exploring.

I was there for a business trip, so I didn’t try the other facilities. The room itself was clean and spacious, with a comfortable four-poster bed and a large bathroom. It had a separate shower and bathtub, plus good shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. There was a short set of stairs in the middle of the room between the bed and bathroom. It was a bit odd but didn’t cause me any trouble. If stairs are difficult for you, I’m sure they could accommodate you if you mention it at reception.

Winter, the Events Coordinator, and Shelly, our lead server, were both so kind and wonderful. My husband and I had an amazing experience with the staff, and the whole team helped make it a memorable weekend. We held our wedding reception at Barton Hall hotel and spa, stayed there for the weekend and used the spa facilities. A huge thank you to the Event Team and everyone at the hotel and spa. I can’t recommend the place enough, and I’ll definitely be back.

The food was great, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The spa was nice, though I missed having a cool pool on such hot days. The shower floor was dangerously slippery. I nearly fell twice, so I had to put a hand towel down in the shower as well as the bath mat.
