The mother and daughter who run Hawthorne House are absolutely lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of it. Our room was spotless and the bed really comfortable. The hotel is well placed for both the town centre and Wicksteed Park. We had a lovely stay.

The people were so friendly and put me at ease right away. The room was cosy, and the memory foam mattress made the bed incredibly comfortable. In the morning, the full English with orange juice and tea was an amazing start to the day. If I need a hotel here again, this will be my first choice.

The breakfast was included for guests and was genuinely good, with plenty to eat and good quality. I’ve stayed twice and enjoyed both visits, so this is where I’ll stay next time I’m in the area. The hotel is near the city centre and lots of amenities, and the rooms have enough space and everything needed for a short or longer stay. The staff were especially welcoming and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend :)

The women running the hotel made us feel so at ease and really took care of us. We had a lovely room, a very comfortable bed, and really nice food. Such a great stay, we’ll definitely be back!

My husband came back saying he’d happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. I’d booked the hotel for him at the last minute, and it turned out to be a perfect choice. He said the place was beautiful, clean and welcoming, with a fantastic room and superb breakfast. All of that for £37.50! Mrs McQuaide was a delight too.
