The incident on our first night was very disturbing. The manager came round to apologise the next day as soon as he heard about it. It wasn’t anything to do with the staff, but it was good of him to acknowledge it. It hasn’t put us off, my sister and I will visit again next year. The downstairs rooms are lovely places to sit and chat if you don’t want to be in the bar. Our bedroom was very comfortable, and I was especially pleased they had a teapot and cosy for my tea. Please don’t take them away! The spa and pool were lovely, though we couldn’t get a lounger because people who weren’t hotel guests could use the facilities. It would have been nice to swim after checkout, but we were told we couldn’t.

I was surprised by how modern and well-equipped the gym was compared with most hotel gyms. Every staff member I met was friendly and helpful, and they made me feel welcome. I raised two issues with the hotel, and both were dealt with efficiently before I got back from work that same day. The room was a great size, with a sofa area, desk, large TV, and nice White Company amenities in the bathroom. I loved the teapot and the good selection of tea and coffee bags instead of instant coffee sachets. The downside was how dark the room was. There was no ceiling light, and all the warm white bulbs in the lamps were dim and covered by heavy shades. There’s a retail park less than a minute’s drive away with shops and food options. Breakfast had cereal, pastries, fresh fruit, and a cooked hot breakfast. I was offered freshly poached eggs or avocado on toast, made to order. I chose poached eggs on toast and they were done perfectly. I didn’t use the bar, but from outside it looked inviting and well stocked. I’ll be working nearby regularly this year and would consider coming back to Kettering Park Hotel.

Ellie gave me the best massage I’ve ever had, and Hannah’s massage was adored by my wife. I’ve only recently lost my Mother, whose funeral was on 17th February. Ellie’s wonderful skills helped ease a lot of the tension I’d been carrying after the funeral. At dinner, KIMBERLEY served us so warmly. When we told her about Mum’s passing, her empathy genuinely moved us and helped make this one of our best breaks ever. I feel able to reset and continue life without Mum. We loved the delicious, very filling evening meal, the fresh fruit in our suite, the complimentary drinks in the guest fridge, and The White Company gift set on the bed. The suite was splendid and comfortable, and I was glad we didn’t have to go up or down stairs to reach our room. The spa facilities were excellent, too. From our warm welcome at Reception onwards, there was little to criticise. We’ll be back and have already recommended KPH to family and friends. Thank you to the Management & Staff of Kettering Park Hotel.

We booked a three-night Relax & Dine break. Check-in and checkout were easy, the hotel was clean, and all the staff were very nice and good at their jobs. The bedroom was first class. They’d missed two sets of towels, but sorted it within minutes. The spa area was excellent, though it could use a few more chairs. My one complaint is that members can get tea or coffee by the pool, but paying guests get nothing. I wasn’t about to pay £5 for a coffee. Even an allowance of two drinks a day poolside would seem fair. I spent a lot over those days, so this felt a bit tight.

The hotel was nice and busy, and the staff were friendly. The breakfast spread was pretty good overall, and the toaster turned out perfectly toasted bread. But the sausages, which are usually a good measure of breakfast, tasted like Tesco basics. The main reason I’m writing is the food. We ordered the “wood fired, sour dough” pizzas at £16 each. They were really disappointing, more like Tesco basics and not at all like sourdough, wood-fired pizza. I’d suggest making the menu more honest about the cheap and cheerful pizzas, and improving the sausages.
