The George

The friendly locals and a good pint were a lovely surprise. I expected less, but the staff were welcoming and the room was clean and inexpensive. I really enjoyed the stay.

It's a friendly pub and the drinks were good, though there wasn't food available in the evening. The staff were helpful and pointed us towards local restaurants. Breakfast the next day was cooked to order and was actually pretty good. I stayed one weekend night. The basic single room was clean and decent for the price, but some bathrooms might feel a bit small if you're larger.

The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable, and the service was really friendly. I only needed a place for one night and this worked perfectly, at a very affordable price. I'd definitely recommend staying for breakfast. The picture shows the "small" option! Thanks to the lovely staff at The George :)

My husband and I booked three nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The rooms were spot on, and the landlady and staff couldn't have been more helpful. If you like a friendly, down-to-earth pub atmosphere, you'll feel at home here. We'll stay again.
