The tearoom felt scruffy and unwelcoming. Fly spray and cleaning product were on the same table as the condiments, a bag4life bag was shoved under a drawer unit, and the white fabric chair my husband used was grimy and stained. Nobody checked whether our order was okay, as they were too busy chatting with someone in the kitchen. The cake was over £5, which felt very expensive. There are so many warm, good-value cafés in the Dales, so I definitely won’t return.

The coffee and tea were both pricey for what you got, with few options for either. The menus and tables were grubby, and the place didn’t feel very welcoming. The decor also seemed out of place for the Dales.

A really friendly B&B, and I thoroughly enjoyed my two nights there. Janey and her husband deserve thanks. My room and the adjoining bathroom were spotless, comfortable, quiet, and well-appointed. Breakfast was freshly cooked, generous, and delicious.

Jeaney was a wonderful host and did everything she could for us. The building was warm, our room cosy with a great view, and parking was free just across the quiet road. Breakfast was filling, and the excellent coffee set us up for the day. We’d have stayed longer if we hadn’t already booked elsewhere for our York visit. It’s a great example of Yorkshire hospitality, and I can’t recommend a stay enough. Don’t hesitate to book if you can!

We only tried the tea room and hadn’t realized accommodation was available. The room was cosy, casual, and comfortable, and the service was excellent. Staff were attentive, helped us choose food, and were happy to suggest options. We just had tea and a snack, with each of us choosing something different, and all the food and drinks were very good.
