We had a wonderful meal while camping nearby, and I’d highly recommend trying the restaurant. The fish was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth, and the pies were excellent too. The talented chef and welcoming staff made us feel at home. The 16th century building is beautiful, and I’d love to stay here when we return. An absolute gem. 👌

We were lucky to get a table on a busy Saturday night after arriving without a booking. We’d started to walk away when the lovely landlady came after us into the street to say one had just become free. Dinner was plentiful and delicious, and the atmosphere was really lovely. I’d recommend it, though booking ahead is probably wise!

The lamb Henry and pork belly were particular favourites, and the Wharfedale Pale Ale stood out too, even though I don’t usually care for cask ales. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we ate at The King's Head both nights we were in Kettlewell. The pub was lively, with wonderful food and staff, and I don’t think we’ve had better service in a pub. They were attentive, checked if we wanted another round, and brought it to our table. Our campsite host Sean at Wharfe Camp recommended it, and it didn’t disappoint. Wharfe Camp is lovely if you’re looking for a site. Well worth a stop if you’re in Kettlewell!

The Saturday dinner was superb: 10 hour slow cooked brisket with creamy mash, roast carrots, buttered greens, and the best gravy I’ve ever had. We’d camped in Kettlewell for two nights and visited the Kings both evenings. The staff were lovely and friendly, especially Rich and Will at the bar. Decent beer, too.

After a long, wet walk, that lovely warm fire was just what we needed. It’s a beautiful building, with friendly staff and a lovely outdoor seating area.
