The meal at Corriegour Lodge was a real highlight, every dish was delicious and beautifully put together, and the ingredients tasted great. The Michelin-recommended restaurant served one of the best meals we’ve had. We also loved the calm, old-fashioned lodge and its lovely setting. Waking up to greenery and a quiet view of the lake felt magical. The staff were so warm and helpful from the moment we arrived, it felt more like visiting friends than checking into a hotel. We’d happily return.

After dinner we settled by the fire in the shared lounge with whisky, and before that enjoyed drinks in the cosy bar overlooking Loch Lochy. Dinner felt home-cooked while still being at starred-restaurant standard. The owner welcomed us with a handshake, which made the arrival feel personal. Do tick every box on the breakfast sheet, especially Lorne sausage. I only wish we’d booked 2-3 nights. Thanks, Christin and team.

The lodge sits about halfway between Fort William and Invergerry, and we only had breakfast there. Staff were generally nice, though our experiences with them varied a bit. It’s an older place, and the wallpaper and decor could do with some care. With just a radiator and no AC, it was hard to get the room temperature right. There’s no lift either. It wasn’t quite what we expected, though I suppose we should’ve checked the fine print.

Christie & Iain made us feel very welcome, and Iain’s dinner was delicious. The old-fashioned hotel is in a beautiful spot, with rooms in a French chateau style. There’s no WiFi, dinner is served at one fixed time, and weekend breakfast finishes at 9am, which were downsides for us. There’s also no lift or ground-floor bathroom, so it won’t suit guests with mobility needs.

Christian and Ian made us feel like part of the family as soon as we arrived. We stayed for two nights, really enjoyed the food, and the hospitality was even better. Highly recommend it.
