Ffolkes

I had a really good night, honestly the best I’ve had in a while. Rachel was cheerful and helpful, and made the three-hour wait for my family, who were at the spa, fun by having me try different drinks since I’m not from Norfolk. Highly recommend Ffolkes. The bar staff are friendly and professional. 100 out of 10. THANKYOU

The evening meal was the main disappointment. The street food trader was Ruchi. The menu sounded good, but the food felt like a Wetherspoons curry night: plain rice that was overcooked, bland curries and no freshly made naans or flatbreads. It was a poor experience. Ordering drinks was awkward too. I asked for a stout, then a Lilley’s cider, then a rhubarb gin, all listed on the menu, and each time staff came back to say they didn’t have it. Even so, we’d stay again for the room, spa, breakfast and friendly staff, which were all excellent. Next time we’d eat somewhere else or go when there’s a different food trader. We had a very enjoyable break in a stylish spa room at Ffolkes, with thoughtful finishing touches. The spa facilities were very good, and staff at both the spa and hotel were incredibly welcoming. Breakfast was excellent too, with good quality food and lovely service. Container golf was a fun way to spend some downtime. One thing disturbed our sleep: an exterior light outside our room couldn’t be switched off.

The spa had a fun, social atmosphere and great music. The robes and towels were really comfortable, though you need to bring your own footwear. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Pub food was great, especially the tasty curry, and brunch had loads of choice I wouldn’t have expected, even an ice cream machine. I’d only add some food to order in the spa area. They do have lots of free sweets, though. The room was perfect for an overnight stay, and I loved the tea, hot chocolate and cookies. This feels like a unique spa experience, ideal for friends or couples.

We went away for a couple of nights and really liked the room, the amazing spa and the friendly staff. The food was the letdown. We often go to The Pigs and love the food there, but street food was the only option, and neither night was very good. Such a shame when everything else was great. At £6-700 for two nights, you want good food as well.
