The other staff were pretty good, but my night was awful. A tall receptionist was unhelpful and kept creeping around by my door at midnight, slamming it several times and waking me twice. The hotel also looks onto a cemetery, which felt very spooky. While I was asleep, some lights fell down. I called reception and was told someone would come check, but nobody did.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, a nice place to unwind after a long day. Staff at The Beverage Park Hotel were polite, knew their stuff and were ready to help throughout my stay. I had a wonderful visit and would recommend it for an easy, pleasant stay.

Breakfast was off-putting, with lots of tables left dirty between guests. The rooms also felt very basic and overdue for renovation, and having the room numbers written in pen added to the run-down impression. The property could use some attention. I was disappointed with my stay.

Handy for the train station, and the staff were really helpful. I stayed last night and the service was great.

My husband and I stayed here for four weeks recently through the homeless, and it was a nightmare. The rooms were filthy, with furniture that belongs in a skip and wallpaper peeling from the walls and ceiling. The place smelled of weed, the bar couldn't be used, and most staff were rude and dismissive. I wouldn't recommend spending your hard-earned money here. At breakfast, the housekeeper, a Romanian woman, often complained and seemed lazy to me. The tables were usually dirty, and she would sit on her phone. One evening we were locked outside for 15 minutes while the receptionist prayed on his mat. We knocked, but he ignored us. When we arrived, the owner, Dan, was arguing with a housekeeper about woman politics. I also witnessed the receptionist, a Pakistani boy, tell a woman off for wearing a vest top and showing skin, then tell her to look after her kids. She left in tears. This is Scotland, and we're allowed to show skin. If that makes him uncomfortable, he should go back home. Dan was also rude about one of his housekeepers behind her back. He said she'd just lost her husband and wasn't right in the head. I hope she sees this and knows what he really thinks of her. The place should be properly checked by a hotel inspector. Strongly not recommended.
