The Kirkcudbright Bay Hotel

The young woman who looked after us couldn’t have been more pleasant, and there was a great choice of non-alcoholic drinks. I went for lunch with my two ladies, and all three mains and both desserts were exceptionally good. We’re only in the area for a week, but will likely fit in another visit. Good menu too.

The owner was lovely, friendly and very helpful. We had a lovely overnight stay at the Weekend. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotless, and breakfast was really nice and well presented. We’ll definitely return.

I used to stay here and have come back before, but nobody told me the restaurant and bar had closed. That was disrespectful and disgusting. I choose a hotel so I can have a meal and a drink, and they didn’t even let me know. It feels like a disused motel now, cold and eerie, with no life in the place. The heating doesn’t work, and staying here was very scary. It’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The owner has destroyed the hotel. It has no heart now, just the bare shell of a building. I definitely won’t return.

We had a meal for four. My own food was excellent, and I’d give the halloumi sticks, mushroom bruschetta and apple and pear crumble five out of five. The others rated their food four out of five. The staff were great too.
