Heatherlea B&B

I’d definitely come back. The host was gracious and accommodating, always seeming to anticipate what guests might need. Breakfast was delicious, and everything was very clean with a comfortable bed. There were lots of useful extras: a mini fridge with a small bottle of milk, robes and slippers, plenty of towels, an ironing board, drying rack and suitcase rack. Parking fits five cars, and there’s an electric car charger. It’s around a 5-10 minute walk to central Kirkwall, and the upstairs rooms look out over the harbor. Best B&B I’ve stayed in.

I felt at home here. Debbie was lovely, and the breakfast was delicious, especially the tattie scone. It’s under a 10-minute walk to Kirkwall, the local shops and the harbour. I’d love to stay again sometime.

We had a brilliant stay at Heatherlea, one of our best. Debbie & Bruce were welcoming, friendly and helpful, and made us a great breakfast. They even had a snack pack ready for our early departure. Our room was fresh, clean and cosy, with lots of little extras. It’s in a quiet spot that still feels central. Highly recommended.

I found this much more pleasant than staying at a Kirkwall hotel, and it cost a fraction as much. Heatherlea is clean and comfortable, with off-street parking, a great breakfast and a spacious, quiet room with a lovely view of Kirkwall. The bed was comfortable, and it’s only a couple of minutes from the centre. The hosts were lovely and knew the local area well. If you’re lucky enough to find it available, book it. I’d highly recommend staying here.
