The view over Kirkwall was lovely, and we slept well in comfortable beds in a cosy room. The owners were friendly and helped with our questions about getting around Orkney. Breakfast was a highlight, tasty and fresh, with plenty of choice and lots of vegetarian options, even vegetarian sausages. A great way to start the day. We loved our stay at highland park house.

Breakfast was ordered the evening before for a set time, with plenty of hot and cold choices, as local as possible. I enjoyed it so much I put on weight: haggis, black pudding, bacon, poached eggs on toast, tomato, mushrooms and more. The old house has comfortable rooms and hot water for washing. It sits high up, with views over Kirkwall. Parking is along the side of the entrance road, a small road just before the distillery.

Antony took such good care of us, and that’s what made the stay special. The building is magnificent, with wonderful attention to its history and details. We had the tower room, which was superb, and the included breakfast was among the best of our Scotland trip. We stayed two nights at Highland Park House, and they were some of the best nights of the trip. If you’re in Scotland, visit Orkney and stay here.

Highland Park House was such a pleasure to stay at. Antony & Aîné were wonderful hosts and catered to everything we needed. We were welcomed with local whiskey and fudge, had scrumptious breakfasts each morning, and found a refreshed tea tray with chocolates every evening. It felt like a homely stay, and I highly recommend it. I hope I can return.

The location is brilliant, next to Highland park distillery, and the breakfast was good. We had a lovely room and fabulous bathroom with an excellent shower. The hosts were very welcoming, and even let our family come over for a gaming night, with no money involved.
