The Shore

We had a few drinks in the bar, which got busy later in the evening, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Once we went back to our room, we couldn’t hear any noise from the bar below. Breakfast was very good and the portions were generous. The hotel was very clean throughout, including our room, and the staff were friendly and professional. I’d looked into hotels in the area before booking one night here, and wasn’t disappointed. We’d definitely stay again. We didn’t eat in the restaurant.

Breakfast was good, but the room was the smallest in the world. Since it’s an annex of the hotel next door, it feels forgotten. The bed was uncomfortable, there was only one pillow, and the paper thin walls let in so much noise from next door that I kept waking up. With the festivals on, there wasn’t really a choice because of the hotel shortage.

I’ve stayed here many times and love the rooms, which are warm, comfortable and modern. They provide hairdryers, dressing gowns, shower and hair shampoo, plus tea, coffee, chocolate and more. The whole place is spotlessly clean, and the restaurant is beautiful. The chef even wrote out the recipe for my meal and gave it to me. The bar and waiting staff are excellent too. Don’t hesitate to stay here xx

I really like this hotel, which is why the second visit was disappointing. The menu had changed to one that required very specific food preferences. Noise also travels between some rooms. On my first stay, over a month earlier, I’d really enjoyed it, but this time I left tired after hearing everything from the room above from 4:30 am, including walking around, using the toilet and showering. I’m not sure I’ll return, which is a shame.
