The dinner deal came with our Winter Rate, and there were some good dishes, including the fish and chips and venison pasta. Some of the starters were fine too, but the potato skins were oily, with mild, tasteless, greasy cheese. The game casserole served in soda bread was a serious letdown: it was tiny, only about four forkfuls, and the worst portion of food I've ever had. Extremely disappointing, avoid it. There were four of us for one night at this well-kept, nicely presented inn. We appreciated the friendly, efficient welcome. We had two very clean, comfortable rooms, one a double for one person and the other for two adults and a teenager on the sofa bed. All the beds were super comfortable.

The food was one of the best parts of my stay, and the room was clean and comfy. The team were friendly and made everything easy, right from checking in through to checkout. I had a brilliant time and will book again.

I slept like a baby in the comfy room, and the food was fantastic. I was surprised by how chaotic breakfast got on Sunday, as I've stayed here before. There were also some seating issues, though the staff greeted me warmly. Still had a lovely couple of nights away and would like to come back.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this cosy, clean, welcoming place. The rooms were just right, dinner was lovely, and the self-serve breakfast was delicious. Everyone on staff was friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely stay again.

The roast turkey and slow-cooked venison were especially good, and the portions were just right. We had a fantastic festive meal that went beyond what I expected. The staff were very friendly and made it feel special. It's local to us too, which is a nice bonus. Looking forward to going back soon!
