Mere Court Hotel

The food was tasty at both dinner and breakfast, and the drinks were very reasonably priced. Ellie at reception sorted out just the right room for us, and Sam was a great host in the bar, attentive without hovering. We had a really good, much-needed break and would definitely stay here again if we’re back in the area.

The venue is beautiful and the rooms are lovely, but what made our family events special was how kind and welcoming everyone was. We’ve held two family occasions at Mere Court, and both times the staff were incredibly helpful and happy to do whatever they could. A comfortable bed, a lovely room and delicious food, with service that was second to none. It’s much less expensive than other hotels nearby and excellent value for money. This is a lovely little taste of a wonderful old-fashioned hotel. Full marks from me.

We chose Mere Court for our wedding because it’s a gorgeous historic hotel and the location worked perfectly. With just seven months to plan, Lyndsey and Georgia helped us turn our vision into reality. They answered my many questions brilliantly and offered flexible options, which gave us confidence that the day could feel like ours. Our guests loved the pretty venue and the traditional, elegant rooms. The food went down well too: we chose a hog roast instead of a traditional sit-down wedding breakfast, then Greek gyros in the evening. On the day, the Mere Court Team kept everything running smoothly from start to finish. If you want your ceremony and reception in one place, I’d recommend Mere Court Hotel.
