Thursday is carvery night, and the choice of meats and vegetables was so huge there was barely space on the plate to try it all. We had a fabulous dinner of delicious home-cooked food. It was packed, so I’d recommend booking. Friendly service, a convivial atmosphere, and our dog was looked after well too. Only wish we’d managed to come back before leaving Wales.

Amazing hospitality from the owner and his daughter lexi. Ralph, my nervous cocker spaniel, even took biscuits from them during a pub visit ❤️ We’ll definitely be back every week. Lovely people and great beer 🍺 diolch!

The floorboards creaked, though I can’t really fault them for that. Everything else was lovely: the room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of storage and a big TV mounted out of the way. There were lots of thoughtful extras, fluffy towels, bottled water, tea, coffee, biscuits and a hair dryer. The bathroom was clean and the shower was lovely too. Friendly service and excellent value. Thanks for a lovely stay, I’d definitely come back.

We stopped with our car club for tea or coffee and cake, and the owner was so accommodating. He put together a lovely cake-and-drinks deal at a good price. It’s a cosy little bar, and the owner was lovely.

It was a quiet night, though the atmosphere was still good. We spent a good few hours with Lee the landlord and Bolton the barman, and the Doombar was excellent.
