The Afternoon Tea was amazing, with plentiful, generously filled crustless sandwich quarters on fresh white and brown bread. The tea came in a pot with extra hot water, which you rarely get. There were lots of lovely cakes, including our favourite, the mini mixed-berry pavlova, plus scones and jam. One picky point: I think fruit scones should come with butter only, since jam and dried fruit don’t go together; jam and cream are for a plain Devonshire scone. That said, the scones were huge, warm, soft inside, and delicious. We took a friend for her birthday, and staff had already found the best table for her wheelchair and access to the toilets. The wide doors and partly accessible cubicle made transfers easier. The place has a lovely feel, with quiet background music that lets you talk and decor that makes you want to relax. Service was attentive without being annoying, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely return.

After a birthday celebration in Blackpool, my daughter and I had a lovely two-night stay. We had an amazing room with period features, then enjoyed a couple of hours with the pool and spa area to ourselves. Dinner at the on-site restaurant, The Lemon Tree, was gorgeous. We’d definitely stay again.

We had a brilliant two-day stay in a studio at Thurnham Hall. It was spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. We also enjoyed the gym, swimming pool, and sauna. Art at reception was welcoming, friendly, and really helpful. I contacted Art through the text service when we needed a few things, and got an immediate response; everything was taken care of efficiently. When a heater stopped working, reception sorted it quickly. It’s a peaceful, beautiful place, and we’ll definitely be back.

We spent four nights here, and it was a beautiful, peaceful place to stay and a good base for exploring the area. The staff were exceptional. We did have a problem in our apartment, but the maintenance team acted quickly, fixed it the same day, and couldn’t have been more helpful. They probably don’t get enough recognition, so I wanted to mention them.
