New Forest Lodge

The one thing I’d change is the mattress, which felt rather hard, despite the huge bed. Otherwise, room 10 was spotless, spacious and comfortable, with clean sheets, fresh decor in the bathroom, fluffy thick towels and a lovely view over the fields. The lodge was warm throughout, even in the bitter cold, and there was no noise from other guests. We appreciated the easy door and key safe codes, the small kitchen area with a toaster, microwave and kettle, and the mini fridge with complimentary water. There was also a large air conditioning unit in the wardrobe, though we didn’t need it. The room was fantastic for the price and much better than the Premier Inn and Travel Lodges we’ve stayed in before. We were there for one night for my husband’s birthday on 3rd January 2026. The Royal jupuir next door was amazing and reasonably priced. After I called reception about my watch, Angie found it and is posting it back straight away. Very impressed, and we’ll definitely return. Well worth the money.

The loft room upstairs felt really special, with lovely views from the window. The service was kind and friendly, and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The sheets and towels were soft and smelled amazing. We loved our stay! X

We had a lovely clean room and excellent views. There wasn’t any staff at check-in, but getting the key from the coded boxes just inside the entrance on the left was straightforward. It was a perfect base for exploring the area during my birthday stay. I’ll be back soon!

It was handy for my road trip, right on a main road with easy access. I knew breakfast and dinner weren’t offered, so I bought food on the way. As a place to stop and sleep, though, it didn’t feel worth the price. The bathroom was clean but smelled damp. I mainly needed a good night’s sleep, but creaking from movement on the floor above kept me awake. I could also hear the extractor fans in the rooms either side and people walking past my door. The front door uses a combination lock, but there was no light to see the numbers. In the rain and dark, it was almost impossible to work out how to get in. When leaving, guests are asked to put the room key in a basket, meaning anyone could take whatever they wanted from the room I’d just stayed in.
