The garden gate opens right onto the sand and sea, with a gorgeous view from this lovely little beachfront place. The host gave us clear directions and useful information, and the heating worked well. The beds and sofa and chairs were comfortable too. The kitchen is small but has nearly everything; I did mention that a frying pan would have been handy. The bathroom's a tight fit, though spotless, and the utility area was great for keeping the dog's bowls. We'll be back, thanks!

We stayed at Beach house number 1 and 2 a few times and had excellent visits at first. After I complained on our last stay, the owner posted a scathing reply on Booking.com, saying I wanted money. That's completely untrue. I've since taken down my three top star reviews. They behaved despicably, and we won't return.

The decor really appealed to me, and it's a lovely ground floor apartment with access to the beach. A great base for seeing Ayrshire.

The beach is right beside it and the views are beautiful. The weather can be changeable, as the photos show, and the locals are very friendly.

We rented a ground floor flat in Fairlie for a midweek break. This beautiful 190-year-old villa sits right on the beach. Perfect.
