Breakfast at The Tower was a lovely, nostalgic moment, with Bing Crosby playing while snow fell outside. Stu cooked a tasty breakfast, and we had a great chat about all sorts. The room was cosy, spotless, nicely decorated, and had a comfortable bed and pillows, plus a decent shower. The owners have clearly put a lot of work into renovating the place. Mavis made us feel welcome when we arrived, and we could park right outside. The owners also responded quickly when we asked about checking in early for a wedding nearby. When it was time to leave, we worried about getting stuck in the snow, but a local came by on a tractor to clear the road. You could really feel how the locals look out for each other. Stu and Mavis are a genuinely lovely couple, and we'd happily recommend staying at The Tower. One small thing: the shower-room door had no handle or lock and wouldn't stay shut, though they provided a wedge for privacy.

Mavis, who owns the place, was so friendly and made us feel welcome. We stopped in for a few pints while staying at nearby Airhouses. It only opens Thursday to Sunday, but it's a cracking little boozer, and the Tennents was decent, which is the main thing! If you're staying nearby, don't hesitate to pop in for a drink.

The people were super friendly and the food was delicious. We spent a few weeks in the area, and The Tower Pub became one of our regular weekend spots. It was easily one of my favourite places in Scotland.

The rooms are beautiful, the food and REAL ALE are incredible, and the atmosphere is hard to beat. The hosts are the best, always making us feel welcome and taking care of the little details. They've put everything into the business and the friendly service really shows. Since new owners took over 3 years ago, the place has been transformed. Ignore reviews older than that. It's become our new favourite joint in the Scottish Borders, and a relaxing place to stop. Oxton is literally 1 minute off the A68, so don't just drive past again.

Rose made me feel at home, more like staying with people than being in a hotel. Nothing was any trouble, and whatever I needed or asked for got sorted. The locals were really nice and welcoming too. I stayed with Stu and Rose for 8 days while working in the area. Since taking over the Tower 3 years ago, they've refurbished it to an exceptional level. The rooms were beautiful and so comfortable. Stu made all the fresh food, which was top class, Michelin star quality, and breakfast was amazing too. They're my favourite hotel and hosts ever. Can't wait to go back in the summer with my wife.
