We were three older women looking for a few days of shopping and dinners, and were a little unsure after reading earlier reviews. Outside the apartment entrance there was a large bin that smelled bad. The stairwell had bags of dirty laundry waiting for collection, but it didn't bother us since they were picked up the next morning. Inside, the apartment looked very clean. The beds had clean white bedding, there were plenty of towels for three people for two days, and we had enough toilet roll, tea, coffee and sugar. We didn't use the cooker, microwave, dishwasher or washing machine, so can't comment on them. My only real complaint was the small shower in the ensuite off the second bedroom. The water swung between very hot and very cold, and I nearly got scalded. My friends said the shower over the bath in the other bedroom was great. The place was very central and suited our needs. Yes, I'd stay again.

We'd driven three hours, looking forward to relaxing and helping our son settle into university. We planned to cook for him and stay a few days, but by 7pm I was rushing around Leeds trying to find a hotel for four people for two nights. The apartment felt unsafe, and I wouldn't let my children sleep there. Vagrants were sleeping outside and there was litter everywhere. Cleaning supplies had been thrown behind the front door. Inside was dark, dingy and dirty. There was no toilet roll, only small hand towels, and the oven and hob were filthy. The splashback was smashed, as if deliberately. There were bodily fluids on the 'sofa bed', which was actually a futon. Each person had one pillow, the microfiber towelling sheets were unpleasant, and the beds looked unmade and unclean. The bathrooms were dirty and the mirror was smeared. Whoever cleans these rooms needs lessons in cleanliness. We found the property on booking*dot-com and, as regular customers, were appalled that the place in the lovely photos wasn't what we got. It needs a full clean, decorating, new beds and a more appropriate price. The owner offered to refund just one night. My husband said any decent person would refund all of it, and I can only imagine the owner went to check what we'd told them, because we eventually got a full refund. I've seen other bad reviews with replies inviting people to return for a discount. I was so appalled that I wouldn't stay again even for free.

Everything's walkable from this really central spot, and the Q-park Albion St long-stay car park is close by too. The cleaners did a great job, it was very clean. A couple of blinds were broken, which is a shame, though I blame the idiots who probably stay there and party. Joe in Customer Service is always available by phone and happy to help. I'd use it again!

We were two young women and didn't feel safe at all. People tried to get into our room, and after that we were petrified for our lives. It ruined the night. From arrival the apartment felt eerie and cold, with the whole city centre of Leeds right outside the big windows. We may as well have slept in an alley. The underground bedroom felt like a dungeon. The covers were dirty, there were bits of snot on the walls, the bath was stained, and it stank of drains, like we were one with the pipes. The blinds might as well have been see-through, so I felt like I was on display for a student's art project. The headboard was broken and shoved in a cupboard. I won't stay there again.

A group of young lads on drugs, using gas balloons, let themselves into the apartment while my family and I were asleep. They had the door codes for a booking the following night. There was no deadlock or other way to stop them getting in without barricading the door. They were aggressive and intimidating, hurled abuse and stayed for an hour. How did this happen? We got a written apology slipped under the door and a full refund, but this should never have happened. My wife and I are both shaken, and she's distraught. The whole thing ruined our weekend. Disgusting and unsafe. I've never had an experience like this, and never want another.
