Londis is right across from the entrance, which makes picking up groceries easy. The Tannery is a centrally located, spacious student high-rise with an equipped gym, a relaxation area, and kitchens set up for five students, giving them a bit more privacy. It’s staffed around the clock, and the rooms are arranged thoughtfully so residents still get some privacy despite the building’s size. Parking is the snag. There’s room for fewer than 10 cars on site, and vehicles have to register or risk a fine.

The Tannery feels like a great place to live while studying. The staff are friendly and always ready to help, and the rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. It’s close to campus and local amenities, while the shared spaces make it easy to meet people.

The guest ban has made things much worse. They seem to assume anyone brought in will cause trouble, so you end up unable to see your friends or guests. Without them, it can feel boring and lonely. How suitable The Tannery is depends a lot on which university you attend. For me, going to UOL is harder because they don’t provide transport like bikes or scooters, and the walk is difficult. Aside from that, it’s good accommodation, with decent prices, nice-looking rooms, and decent amenities.

The reception team is really good, and the building may be modern, but that’s about all I can say for it. New students should know it costs roughly £8-10k, which feels ridiculous and greedy. The latest 10 positive reviews are simply because the washing is too expensive, so people would rather take up the offer. There have been so many incidents, yet the accommodation keeps imposing guest bans to try to solve them. They should be installing cameras for these serious incidents instead. My room had a dirty mattress, as did several others. The walk to UOL isn’t worth it, and neither is taking a cab. The elevators are constantly dirty and out of maintenance. Whoever owns this accommodation seems to care about the money going into their pockets, not the students.

The block I live in is relatively quiet, and maintenance responds fast. They’re really helpful and friendly. The staff are welcoming too, and know the area and the accommodation well.
