The Grand Hotel Leicester by The Unlimited Collection

The rooms are beautiful, the beds really comfortable, and the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Since the major refurbishment in February 2026, there’s also a new team who deserve the five stars. This will be my hotel whenever I visit Leicester. Easily the best in the city.

We held my son's wedding in the Kings Hall, which has some lovely features. The hotel team were polite, attentive and excellent throughout. Paul, the wedding planner, and Kuran, the liaison person, were fantastic from start to finish. Kuran was my main contact on the day, and his eye for detail helped everything run perfectly. He even found a prayer room and cloth for us to pray on, so all our guests were looked after. We heard lots of positive comments about both the wedding and the hotel, especially the personal touch everyone received.

We weren’t told at checkout what time we had to leave, then got calls and knocks because we were still there after 11:30. The hotel is also undergoing extensive work, though we couldn’t find that mentioned anywhere. The lift wasn’t working, and while our room had been refurbished, there was long black hair on the duvet. The shower door blocks the controls, so using them is a contortion act; cold air came through the windows, and the HVAC controls didn’t work. It’s not ready yet for the discerning traveller market.

It’s a lovely, recently renovated hotel, and quite grand when you walk in. The staff were very attentive. Ask for Kuran if you need information. Definitely looks like a wedding venue. Thanks to everyone.
