The Riverside Inn

We’ve been eating at the Riverside for years and have celebrated several special occasions there too. The chef is brilliant, and it wouldn’t be the same without George. Parking can be a little tricky sometimes, which is why I’ve only given the location four stars.

The suite was cozy and impeccably clean, with the river roaring outside the ajar window in January. The bed was turned down each day, the bathroom refreshed, and the shower was hot with strong pressure. The staff were always friendly and close by. They remembered on day two that I liked brown sauce with my fry up, and spotted that heavy winds were blowing something into the security light outside our room. They sorted it before I even had to ask. Food was delicious, varied, and well priced, with high end ideas made from simple, quality local ingredients. The Negroni was excellent and could rival the best I’ve tried. The fried breakfast was top notch, and the black coffee was first class too. You choose your breakfast time and order the night before so it can be cooked fresh in the morning. Every part of the stay went beyond what we expected. I won’t hesitate to stay here again.

The sauna and hot tub were a lovely way to finish, and the staff, food, and atmosphere were all great. It lived up to our expectations and then went beyond them. Thanks for such a wonderful experience.

We came for two nights and had such a relaxing stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and George at the front of house was amazing. He never stopped, made us feel very welcome, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Service was first class and the food was a gastronomic delight, absolutely faultless. We also had a wonderful experience at their ‘Wild escapes’ well being. Charlene gave us a top to toe massage and was amazing. We left feeling really chilled out. Thanks again to all the staff, we’ll be back.
