Shetland Hotel

The service was very nice, though the building feels very dated inside and out. I only had breakfast, which was absolutely fine, so I can't comment on dinner. It's a little outside the town centre, but right opposite the ferry terminal.

The views are nice and the location is convenient. The Shetland Hotel was an acceptable place to stay in Lerwick, though nothing really stood out. The rooms felt a bit dated, and the service was average.

The location is very good, right in front of the ferry terminal and just a few minutes from Lerwick town. The rooms are good. Breakfast isn't buffet-style: they take your order and bring it promptly with toast and coffee. You can have tea instead, and I was glad to get gluten-free toast.

You can get off the ferry, cross the road and be at the hotel, which is marvellous. It's also handy for shops and places of interest, and I'd definitely stay again, for the location as well as the food and staff. My room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of clothes space and a good-sized bathroom with a shower over the bathtub. The old double glazing didn't keep the noise out, though. We could choose whether to have the bed made each day. That seemed odd at first, but we decided to make it ourselves. There was a good range of food, and every meal was beautifully cooked. The staff handled our coach party well. Two female waiters and two, sometimes three, male staff served us, but the two women really held it all together and were amazing.
