The cafe across the road was a great bonus, and this modernised two-bedroom cottage made a handy base for hiking. It’s well equipped, though the parking can be a bit tight. Watch your head if you’re tall, as several thresholds are low.

There are books, games and puzzles for rainy days, plus a useful stash of basic kitchen utensils. The cottage has plenty of character and was lovely to stay in. The low doorways and ceiling could be awkward for taller people.
