Pavilions

I’m concerned about how we were treated when my sister and I went to the front desk to make a payment before moving in. We are both Asian. This happened at about 17:30 on 5 February 2026. The staff member on duty was sitting at the counter and had long black, shoulder-length hair, a nose piercing, and visible tattoos on the left hand. I was first speaking with another colleague seated beside them, but this staff member kept interrupting and refused to help. They talked over us without giving us a chance to respond and repeatedly pointed a finger at my face. It made both of us uncomfortable. After being spoken over and pointed at several times, I briefly pointed back to show how the behavior felt. The staff member then said, “why are you pointing at my face, you are so rude,” even though they had pointed at us repeatedly, and dismissed our response with “whatever” and negative facial expressions. As Asian customers, we came away feeling we hadn’t received the basic courtesy and care anyone should reasonably expect. We were there to make a significant payment for a Gold Studio Deluxe room, a high-value booking, so the lack of professionalism and respect was especially disappointing. This isn’t about policy, but about customer treatment, respect, and professional conduct. I sincerely hope management reviews this specific shift and the staff member’s conduct, and provides appropriate training. The interaction made a very poor first impression.

Millie on the reception team makes this a lovely place to live. She’s warm, friendly, and easy to approach, always professional and organized, and patient and attentive too. Her sense of humor makes every interaction easy. That reliability and thoughtfulness create a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere and bring positive energy to the place. I’ve had a really good experience living here, and I’d definitely recommend the accommodation. Lovely staff, five stars.

The common rooms are a real plus at IQ. They’re great for studying, unwinding, or hanging out with friends, and the regular events make it easier to meet people and feel part of a community. Staff are friendly and helpful whenever you need them, and the security is very good, so the place feels safe and well managed. I had a great stay here. It’s a comfortable, lively option for students.

I’m staying at iQ Pavilion now and have had a really good experience so far. It’s comfortable and feels safe for a student. The rooms are modern and clean, and the location is ideal, very close to the University of Lincoln and the city centre. Staff are friendly and quick to help if anything comes up.
