Breakfast was a real highlight, especially the delicious scrambled egg on toast, and there were cereals, toast, and a full English too. We also enjoyed a lovely riverside walk just up the road. We only stayed one night at Crown Lodge, and it was just right for a bit of peace and quiet. The owners were friendly and happy to chat. Supper was great: I loved the lasagne, and my husband couldn't praise his steak enough. The chips were so good that I wished I'd ordered some with my lasagne. Our room was clean, the bed was comfy, and although the bathroom was tiny, it worked perfectly well for us. There was plenty of tea, coffee, and milk on the tray. Full marks from us, and we'd definitely stay again.

A useful place to find a room at short notice. It was warm and clean enough, though I didn't think it was great value. I'd eat somewhere else.

We were tired, so we stopped in at the last minute and found a hidden gem. The food was great, the place was very clean, and our hosts Corinne and Barry were a really nice couple. Thoroughly recommended. Colin and Diane, Perth, Australia.

The bed was soooo comfortable, and the room felt cosy and like home. We were travelling on our bikes and got caught in the rain, but the bikes were safe. Breakfast was lovely, and everyone was so friendly. We'll definitely stay again.

The bar had plenty of drinks and snacks to choose from, and the locals were welcoming and friendly. My husband and I stayed for two nights, on 15th and 16th September 2023. The owners were lovely, professional and friendly. Our room was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed and an en-suite bathroom. We ate here both evenings and had breakfast each morning. The food was nicely presented and tasted excellent, even though it wasn't fancy. There were lovely ornamental decorations throughout the building, too. Absolutely wonderful place to stay.
