We stayed two nights and found the rooms nice and warm with the space heater. The bathroom was good, and the shower was easy to use with hot water. Everyone on staff was friendly and attentive, and the cosy, warm bar had a great local atmosphere. My only complaint is that the room needed more coffee and milk. Nothing major, really. A great stay.

It’s handy for the University of Lincoln, the Double Tree by Hilton, Holiday Inn and the central area. When I visited, the pub was lively and packed, though it was a festive period. I hope it has the same buzz at other times too. It seems to be doing something right to draw such a crowd. Very family-friendly and good for groups.

For the price, it’s great value. The room was clean and tidy, and parking on the road was easy with the permit they provided. There’s no food, but plenty of places nearby, so I didn’t need it. It’s about 20 minutes from town. I expected the pub to be noisy, but shutting the door kept things quiet. The reception was friendly too.

The room needs a little attention: the curtain pole was coming away and the door was stiff. Still, the staff were friendly and the small pub was lovely. It’s a gentle 15-minute walk into the city centre. Would I come back? Yeah!

Two bars in town pointed me here when I asked for a pub serving beer instead of fancy lagers or ciders. Glad I listened. The beer selection was great, the staff were great, and the atmosphere was nice.
