The Old Palace

It was so peaceful at night, especially for somewhere this central. The place is tucked just off Steep Hill, with the cathedral literally looking down on it, and the location couldn’t be more convenient. There’s secure private parking as well. Everyone working there was polite and friendly, and I loved the approach to breakfast.

We had breakfast delivered early because we needed to leave early, and the service was great. There’s a good amount of parking from 12pm, so you can leave the car and do a bit of shopping before you get your room. The hotel is beautiful and sits halfway up Steep Hill, in a perfect spot. Our room was lovely and warm, with a really comfortable bed and a stunning old stained glass window. The bathroom was clean, with a walk-in shower and plenty of hot water. Great hotel, position and service. I’ll book again.

The room was spectacular, and the whole place was kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Free parking was included, which was handy for us. The service was lovely, from our phone call through to being welcomed and checked in. It’s a one-of-a-kind hotel. I’d definitely stay again next time I’m in Lincoln, and would absolutely recommend it.

Jo and the team made our room feel special for our anniversary. It was cosy and warm, and the Christmas tree in reception gave the place a lovely festive feel. The staff were attentive and friendly. The building is gorgeous and the location is great for Lincoln Cathedral, the castle and Steep Hill. I’ve taken off one star because a couple of small maintenance jobs are needed in the room, but they’d be easy fixes. So far, so good, it’s a great little find with excellent service.
