We booked a small double for one night, but it was tiny, dated and really unwelcoming. The TV didn't work, and the facilities were poor enough that we had to find somewhere else to stay at extra cost. Thankfully, we found alternative accommodation, and other rooms might be okay, but be aware of the small double. At arrival, the young woman asked why the front door was open. She was carrying her baby and struggled with our room door, then put the baby in my husband's arms and told him to hold her. He couldn't hold her for long and had to put her on the floor. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

After a long journey, I couldn't get anyone to answer the doorbell or knocking. A note said they couldn't answer the door at the moment and asked me to call a mobile number, but the call wouldn't connect. I found alternative accommodation, fortunately, because this was a terrible start to the visit. When I finally got through some hours later, the person on the phone had a poor attitude and said there was a key in a box by the door. Nobody had told me that before I arrived. I was there after the 3 pm check-in time, so someone should have been available. I doubt I'll get my money back. I'd advise people to stay clear.

For a single room, I paid £65 a night, room only. That may be a touch expensive, but I'd stay again. There's no breakfast, which is fine as long as you know in advance, as I did. Parking is free on the street if you can find a spot, or there's a pay-and-display directly opposite. The room itself was quiet and clean, with lots of nice touches. My single room had a double bed, which was nice, though the bedding was too small and kept slipping off. The ensuite was handy, but the shower dribbled and kept switching between hot and cold.

The room was very neat and tidy, though a little small. I reckon the nearby hotel rooms are probably much the same. The lady who owns the place was very friendly. It's about five minutes to Long Bench beach. If you're lucky, you can park right outside on the road. Otherwise, there's free parking within a two-minute walk from 6 pm to 8 am. You can extend the hours with the parking app, or get up early to move the car or buy a ticket so you don't get one. Mohantha portly.
