The coffee came with a huge shortbread biscuit, and the food was really good value too. We popped in for a drink and a bite to eat, and the place was just amazing. There’s loads of parking, a big, lovely interior and plenty of outside seating. The service was great. I praised the homemade soup and mentioned I was trying to figure out the recipe, so the chef came out and told me how to make it. I’m keeping that to myself, you’ll have to go and find out!

No washing up for us afterwards, which was a lovely bonus to Christmas Day. We really enjoyed the meal, from the prawn cocktail to the Christmas dinner with loads of vegetables and cranberry sauce. I had lemon tart and cream afterwards, which was very nice, and the other guest chose the cheese board. The staff were really friendly, the service was excellent, and the fire made the cosy atmosphere even nicer. Thanks to everyone for a very nice Christmas.

We went to The Pig & Whistle for my husband's 69th birthday, and I'm so glad I booked. The pub has a lovely, comfortable atmosphere, and it has a great history too. The staff were helpful and pleasant, and the meal I had with my husband was absolutely delicious. Five stars all round. We'll definitely visit again, and I'd recommend it to others. Thank you to everyone.

The Christmas pudding was heaven in a dish, and I’ve never had a meal cooked so perfectly. Lunch was excellent, with friendly, relaxing surroundings and excellent service. I didn’t stay overnight, though I’m sure the rooms would be nice. An absolutely lovely pub and restaurant.

We live nearby, but it had been a few years since we last went to the Pig & Whistle. We decided it was time to support our local, and had a wonderful meal with incredible service. Thanks for a lovely evening. We’ll definitely come more often.
