I didn't stay in a room, so the one star isn't a criticism of the accommodation. I went to the rooftop bar, which is a beautiful place to sit if you actually want to talk with the people you're with 😂. My five stars are for the new owner. As we were leaving, my friend and I cheekily wandered through to the hall, and it was fab. We heard the place had just changed hands. I'm not sure if the woman we spoke to was the owner, but I appreciated talking with her. We were saying the hotel has so much history, and the previous owners destroyed it. Lots of people may not even know it's there. Now it seems someone wants to restore the building, celebrate its history and make the most of what it represents, instead of just making a quick buck. It's part of our history, and people forget where things started. It was a pleasure speaking with someone who wants to restore it and bring it into today's world while holding on to why it was built in the first place. People buy buildings like this thinking they'll make money off their heritage, then forget to keep the legacy alive and don't value what they have. They ruin a place, we lose a piece of why we are Liverpool, and then the business loses value too. I feel this hotel and rooftop bar are turning things around, and should be thriving again. Well done for wanting to own a piece of it and restore its reason for being there. Beautiful building, too.

We'd been bumped from the hotel next door, and they were kind enough to put us up for a few nights. Our room was spacious, with a kitchen and jacuzzi, and they provided a safe, fridge, towels, shower gel, shampoo and hairdryer. It's an old building, so a few bits and pieces around the place weren't working properly. Still, it was quiet overall and in a great location.

A naked guest was banging on our door in the corridor at 3am and woke us up. We got no refund, despite that, and the hotel had taken a £100 deposit. Honestly, what a joke. The place looks like a derelict care home, from broken glass in the lift to broken fittings, windows and curtains hanging off the rails in the room. I don't understand how it has four stars on Google. It needs a wrecking ball and isn't fit for service. Terrible, avoid.

At check-in, after booking last minute, we were told we'd been upgraded. There was no bar or pool available. They also took a £100 damage deposit, which I don't think was necessary, since you couldn't cause £100 worth of damage. Very poor hotel and service.

The customer service was absolutely amazing, and I felt really looked after. The room was spotless too. Couldn't fault the place if I tried. If you're visiting Liverpool, I highly recommend staying here!
