Agnes Jones House - Campus Residence

I've been here for two years and would like to make it three. I've really enjoyed getting to know my flatmates, and the staff are kind and helpful. A couple of maintenance problems came up, but after I reported them they were sorted within a few days. Very good for the price, hahah.

The studio has loads of storage, a big fridge freezer, a table and chairs, and a sofa. My daughter has just moved in, and of the three student flats she's lived in, this is the nicest. It's handy to park right outside in the private car park for a reasonable fee. There isn't a lift, which could be a problem for some. The kitchen motion light kept coming on during the night, but we're hoping a piece of card fixed near the sensor might stop that.

i've been here a year and now i'm into my second. nothing to complain about, the staff are amazing and the little things they put on in reception are great too. completely recommend it to students!

The place is in a terrible state. Light fittings pop out, sockets spark when we plug things in, which feels like a huge fire risk, the windows are broken, and our flat wasn't properly cleaned before move-in. There was even a receipt from 2022 in a cupboard. We also have no fire escape or other way out if a fire starts. Hot water and pressure have been a problem since we arrived in September. We've been resorting to filling a cup at the sink to wash, and in December the hot water tap stopped working too. A maintenance man checked it last week, laughed and said, "Oh yeah that is freezing," then left and hasn't come back. Come back maintenance man, we miss you :( There's one barely working vacuum for the whole accommodation, and no mops or other basic cleaning supplies. I wouldn't book unless you want freezing showers, no proper way to wash your pots and pans, or to share one shower with eight other people.
