It’s busy on match days and very close to the stadium. There’s a shop next door, opposite the bus stop, and the pints are reasonably priced. It’s a little rough around the edges, but it isn’t a city-centre gastro bar, so what do you expect? There are probably nicer places, but this is what it is. I haven’t stayed in the rooms, so can’t comment on those. Have a look around and compare with what you’re after.

I left The Twelfth Man feeling humiliated and targeted because of my race. The man who said he was security was aggressive, and the manager’s response felt passive and unfair. I hope management investigates properly and trains the staff so customers from every background can feel welcome. I went in on the day of the Liverpool vs Manchester United match this season, hoping to watch on the screen since I didn’t have a ticket. I’d just recovered from flu and couldn’t drink alcohol, so I bought a Diet Coke as soon as I arrived and sat quietly. About 15 minutes later, a tall white man in an all-black outfit, around 40, came over. He wore no uniform or badge, but claimed to be a security guard. He rudely told me to give up my seat, said it was “his seat,” and threatened he could easily throw me out. Several local customers sided with him, leaving me shocked and isolated. After I finished my drink and took the empty cup back to the bar, the same man returned and insisted I buy another drink or leave. Other people had empty glasses and weren’t told to do that. I asked for the manager and explained I’d just finished my Coke and would get another later, since I felt too full then. Only after that did the manager, a woman, say I could stay. I’ve lived in the UK for over four years and been to many pubs, but I’ve never been treated with such disrespect. A match day that should have been enjoyable became an upsetting reminder that racial prejudice still exists.

The glasses clearly aren’t being cleaned properly, and the place feels rough. The security is shockingly rude and has even used the F word to customers. You’re told to buy a drink as soon as you enter, then pressured to get a second one or threatened with being made to leave. If this weren’t the only nearby pub showing a match day livestream, I wouldn’t go. It reflects badly on Anfield for both fans and tourists.

Really friendly and helpful people, with a great atmosphere and good-quality drinks. We were short on time after a match, and they even arranged a taxi to the airport for us. I’d absolutely recommend it.

I’m a Greek PAOK fan and had a great time in this pub with the Liverpool fans. The woman at the bar was polite, the Romanian guy was the best, and everyone there was great. PAOK LE OLE OLE OLE
