The central location is handy, just a five-minute walk from almost everything, and the staff were friendly. Still, we can’t really recommend it. We requested a room with a window, but it wouldn’t open, so there was no way to air the room. We stayed five days, four nights, and didn’t get any cleaning service at all, not even a basic tidy-up. The room was freezing. The heating didn’t work, and although it was supposedly set to 23 degrees, it only reached about 13 to 16 inside. They had no extra blankets, just a small portable heater when we complained. We booked for two people but found only one towel and had to ask reception for another. The room was incredibly tiny, with no bench, bedside table, wardrobe, or much of anything. And the bed was the most uncomfortable we’ve ever had in a hotel. It creaked like an old bed whenever either of us moved.

Please don’t stay on a Saturday night if you’re not going clubbing. I checked out early after people next door got into a heated argument. Someone lost their temper, with screaming, punching walls and stomping on floors from 4am. It really put a downer on my stay. The staff were amazing and lovely, and it was easy to borrow things like a hairdryer or another towel. The room was a decent size for one person, and the bed and bathroom were clean. Thanks to the housekeeping team xxxx. The staff were all angels, but people will be people xxxx.

The location was good, and the staff were nice when I asked for extra pillows. But the room felt more like a hostel, with a very uncomfortable springy bed and something sticking out from underneath that I kept banging my leg on. The bathroom and bedroom are separated by a glass door, and there was a disgusting suspicious stain beside the soap. It was freezing because the heating wouldn’t come on, and the window leaked. Only one plug worked, and none of the light switches by the bed worked either. The double bed was so small it felt like a twin, and the TV looked tiny from the bed. Street noise came right in. You could hear someone walking past and talking normally. Honestly, you can find a hotel at the same price with much better quality.

The shower was fine, though the sink was awkward to use with the shelf above it. The rooms were clean and tidy, but there were no basics like a glass or cup, and no tea or coffee setup in the room. There’s only a machine at reception, and very little hanging space.
