Holiday Inn Liverpool City Centre by IHG

The room was pretty average, but spotless. The gym could use an update, as some machines don't work. The staff were excellent, and the location right outside the station was great. Catering and the conference room were excellent too. I stayed a couple of nights for a conference, and all in all it's a very good hotel.

The station is right next door, so the location is very convenient for getting around, and check-in was smooth. Breakfast was decent too, with the usual choices and eggs cooked to order when requested. The room was dated and worn, and had a strange smell that made me question the cleanliness and hygiene. The gym was the biggest disappointment: tiny, poorly equipped, and limited to a few old machines that looked like they hadn't been updated since the 90s. Honestly, I'd skip it. There are better options in Liverpool city centre with more modern facilities and better value for money.

You really can't beat this location. The room attendants did a wonderful job, and though the room was dated, it was spotless. It was extremely dark, the main bulb was out, and the bathroom extractor fan was either missing or not working. We were only there for two nights, so I didn't ask the front desk for a bulb. It seemed like more trouble than it was worth. We paid for the night before so we could check in when we arrived at noon, even though standard check-in is at 3:00 pm. I called the day before to confirm the room would be ready and wouldn't be cancelled as a no-show. Still, it wasn't available when we got there. The front desk staff focused on being “right,” saying, “We don’t do early check-in at Holiday Inn.” I knew that, which is why we'd paid for the previous night. They didn't listen or apologize, and made me feel so foolish that I didn't want to stay anymore. In the end we got our old but very clean room. What should've been a seamless arrival turned into an epic failure. This is by far the worst Holiday Inn we've stayed at, and I personally wouldn't return. For anyone else, the location is unbeatable as long as your expectations of service are low.

Comfy rooms, an amazing breakfast, and a great location. The real stars are the staff, who were genuinely friendly and helpful. Thank you 😊 We'll be back.
