There was hardly any room to walk beside the double bed, the room was that tiny. The layout is so bizarre, with confusing corridors and labels at every turn to help people find rooms. Our room lock was hanging off, and the door looked like it had been kicked in and then left unrepaired. Wiring for the lights above the bed had been pulled out too. It might do if you need an emergency room and it’s really cheap, but I wouldn’t pick it for a romantic break.

Great value, with friendly staff and a brilliant location. The rooms were clean, if a bit small, and the showers were hot. Towels and bed linen were clean too.

Noise has been the main drawback on my several work stays here. Other guests sometimes talk or laugh loudly in the corridors late at night. I know the hotel can’t control everything, but reminders around the building might encourage people to be more considerate. My room experience has varied: most beds were comfortable, though one mattress was firmer than I liked. The rooms and bathrooms have always been clean, and reception staff have been friendly and polite. I’ve also had a shower door that wouldn’t shut properly once, and curtains with holes another time. Those were minor annoyances. It’s cheap and centrally located, so good value overall.

For one night, the basics were all I needed: a double bed, shower and desk. I was in town for a concert and the friendly, helpful staff let me leave my bags while I went shopping. The hotel’s like a maze, with lifts and stairs all over the place, so good luck finding your way after a few drinks! Very good stay, and I’d come again.
