Union Bank Apartments

The lift is tiny, and the stairs are a pain after a few drinks, but the apartment itself was lovely. We enjoyed the whirlpool bath, though its plug was faulty and the bath had dropped, which we pointed out to staff. They were lovely and helpful. The rooms were clean, spacious and tastefully decorated, and the location was excellent and central. We had a lovely weekend and I’d definitely stay again.

The apartment we originally paid for was meant to sleep four, but three of us could barely fit. We had to take turns sleeping on the floor. After a six hour trip from London, we arrived freezing and were told our booking had been lost, even though we’d paid a lot for it. The man there showed no sympathy and said they weren’t liable. Hotels.com were awful too, hanging up on me eight times while I tried for over an hour to explain what had happened. Mary was the one bright spot. She sorted out a lot of the problems smoothly, so the two stars are for her and not the apartment. This was a sour first experience of Liverpool and I wouldn’t recommend the place. And honestly, don’t use Hotels.com.

We booked at the last minute and were glad to find a clean, bright apartment close to the city centre but on a quiet street. Everyone slept well. Our two bedroom place for four had plenty of room, though storage was sparse. The dressing tables were nice, but a set of drawers would have helped. There was only one double plug in the upstairs bedroom, which wasn’t enough, and the well equipped kitchen could use a chopping board.

The Spa Bath apartment was modern looking, clean and nicely laid out, and the price was very reasonable for what you get. I called to ask about parking and the woman on the phone was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Later, when staff asked what brought me to Liverpool, I said I’d proposed to my girlfriend, now my Fiancé, and they offered a discount on my next stay. A special, memorable visit. I can’t recommend it enough and will be back.
