Metropole Hotel and Spa

I booked the Spa with Afternoon tea for 2 and found it really relaxing. The steam room and sauna were lovely, and the pool was spacious and not too deep. We were given robes, slippers, body cream and a locker for our things. The afternoon tea was very filling, and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. I highly recommend it.

The old world charm hit us as soon as we walked in, and the hospitality was lovely throughout. Reception was friendly and went above and beyond when I asked for a bath. Our room was outstanding, comfortable and had everything we could need, plus more. We spent a relaxing couple of hours at the spotless, well cared for pool. The young man there greeted us warmly, provided towels and explained everything. Dinner was fabulous, with service second to none. The staff seemed highly trained but still friendly, which added so much to the stay. At breakfast, a lovely lady explained everything and let us choose where to sit, which I like. There was plenty of choice and the breakfast was excellent. Our stay was excellent, and duty manager Sam made it even more special. His love for the hotel really shows, and he seems to be everywhere: at the front desk when we arrived, seating us in the restaurant that evening, and still there the next morning. He's fantastic, warm and friendly, and the staff seem to love him too. I love this hotel and everything about it. There's lots to do, and the walks are beautiful. We visited the three dams and enjoyed the stay so much that we booked to come back early next year. Thank you so much.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot in the heart of Wales, with mountains and countryside all around. Food was fantastic, served by great staff. The spa has excellent facilities including a pool, with a well equipped gym too. The sauna, steam room and treatments cost extra. There's a large car park behind the hotel. I'd definitely recommend staying here and plan to return.

The rooms are comfortable and quite spacious, with good beds, though the technology isn't exactly 21st century. The staff were great, very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Our party of around 40 all agreed the food was exceptional during our fantastic few days here. It's a lovely old hotel with a lot of Edwardian grandeur, one of the last of its kind in a spa town once full of similar classy places. I'd confidently recommend staying here.
