We picked this place because of all the good reviews, and it was a good choice. Our Hunters chicken was piping hot and cooked beautifully, tender enough to fall apart as we cut into it. The chips, somewhere between thick-cut and fries, were just right, with peas and a crisp side salad alongside. We paid just £20 for both meals on the midweek special. We eat well, and still left completely full. Really good value and very nicely cooked. We had no cash for a tip, but the manager let us put an amount through the till and take cash out for the staff. They earned it. We really enjoyed the meal.

Liz and Ste make you feel so welcome, and there’s a log fire, great beers and plenty of fun. Liz is always busy behind the scenes, keeping the toilets spotless and smelling fresh, cooking, and calling bingo. The food is home cooked by Liz, with proper chips, all fresh and at great prices. This is the most community spirited pub we’ve ever seen. From the youth club to bingo, where the banter makes for one of the funniest nights you’ll have, it’s brilliant to see them raising money for local charities right in the heart of the village. 10/10, Liz and Ste. Thanks for everything, see you again soon.

I loved how quiet the village is, and the B & B was just right for me. There’s a premier shop opposite for picking up a few things, and the bed was so comfortable. The shower was WOW, I really didn’t want to get out! Breakfast was scrumptious and set me up for the day. Liz and Steve are lovely hosts, so welcoming and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. Faultless.

A really relaxing local pub, with an open fire, TV and a dog friendly welcome. The owners were so hospitable, and the home cooked food was delicious. Very enjoyable 👌 👍 🥰
