We spent five nights here with our eight-year-old, and there's plenty nearby if you enjoy getting out and exploring. There are all sorts of good beaches, plus lakes, waterfalls and lots more. On a fine day, it's worth walking across the bridge between Fairbourne and Barmouth. The local pubs serve good food, but book a weekend table. The place itself is a sweet little spot, tucked just off the main road, as main as roads get around here.

We were warmly welcomed when we arrived, and everyone was so sweet. The sea views are lovely, and the sunsets are breathtaking. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to get away for a bit.

A great spot if you're into walking and nature. There are about four cottages joined together, and the owner lives in one of them. She's really friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
