Travelodge Paignton Seafront

We stayed in room 222 for two nights, and the whole team made us feel welcome. Lucas, one of the staff, was easy to talk to and adjusted his humour to different people. He was caring and professional, with brilliant customer service, and made us feel supported. Our room was nice, clean, and had everything we needed. The kitchen made a late exception for us, which we were extremely grateful for. We really appreciated everyone. Thank you.

We had a meal at the hotel one evening because it was pouring with rain, and were pleasantly surprised by the food. We both chose the main and dessert deal. The mains came hot on pre-warmed plates. My sticky toffee pudding with creme anglaise was gorgeous, and my partner loved the pancakes with ice cream and fruits of forest. The staff were especially attentive and very pleasant. We were also very happy with quiet room 219, and the breakfasts each morning were excellent. Superb location in Paington.

The staff were all pleasant, and the location was good. Breakfast was hot with plenty of choice, but the fresh orange machine was still broken, leaving squash or hot drinks as the options. The wash basin wouldn't drain. They offered another room, but with only one night left, it didn't seem worthwhile. The bath's non stick mat was dirty and mouldy around the edges, the skirting boards were dusty, and there was a large carpet stain near the bathroom. I wouldn't stay again. Nothing against the staff, but the place needs a deep clean.

The room was clean and tidy, with no complaints there, and the cooked food was nice. The young lad with glasses on evening shifts was fantastic and friendly, as was the staff member who looked like the manager. The manager never said hello when I came in or went out. Parking was awful, with staff using all the disabled spaces at the front and cars left down the side on double yellows.
