Gales Of Llangollen

I booked the restaurant at gales for my daughter and son-in-law’s 40th birthday party last Saturday. Gareth worked really hard to put together an excellent buffet for 12 adults and two children, and nothing was too much trouble. His staff were a credit to him, and the service helped make it such a happy, enjoyable evening. I can’t thank him enough. Local businesses need support from locals as well as holidaymakers. If you want to organise a party, I’d recommend popping in to see Gareth. He’s an asset to the business.

We turned up as a group without a booking tonight and weren’t sure there’d be a table, with Llangollen so busy. The service was excellent and attentive, and our food and drinks arrived really quickly. The mulled wine and mushroom bourginon made a great festive treat. Food, service and value were all excellent. We had a really relaxed, enjoyable stay. The bar is a real bonus in the years when they have bands on.

Open mic night at Gales Wine Bar turned into one of my best evenings in years. I’m a 50-year-old walker who’s been to more pubs and wine bars than I can count, and the music and performers were fantastic. The room felt warm and welcoming, with a real sense of community. Anton was serving several people at once but still greeted me with a smile and a kind word. Lizzie was lovely too, always smiling, helping people find seats and even offering table service. I felt relaxed and well looked after throughout. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in town. If you like good wine, friendly faces and live music, Gales is a great place to spend an evening.
