The family room was very clean and well maintained, and the car park was quiet with plenty of space. The Grannell is also convenient for travelling on to other areas. We didn’t see any staff during our stay because of the self entry setup, but that wasn’t a problem for us. Getting into the room was a hassle, though. There’s a lockbox outside for the main hotel key, and its whole front comes off to get the key. Returning it means entering the code again to reattach the front, so the process has to be done twice. Then there’s another electronic code for the rooms upstairs, and a third for the room itself. Four codes just to get inside feels excessive. An electronic key for all the locks, like some other hotels use, would be much more convenient. The communal areas smelled musty, which was off-putting, although they looked clean. The trundle bed squeaked and wasn’t comfortable, and the double bed pillows were so hard we ended up sleeping without them. The room faces the road and can be noisy, though it didn’t bother us. There was only one roll of cheap toilet paper, which would have run out if we’d spent longer in the room.

The rooms are large, comfortable and have everything you need, including an en suite bathroom. It’s a lovely hotel and I’d stay again if I’m back in the area. The village is quite remote and quiet, so getting a pint or a good meal can be difficult. The hotel only serves dinner and breakfast Thursday to Sunday, but Lampeter is just a seven minute drive away and has places to eat and drink. Entry is by key safe, with PIN codes for the room and so on, so there’s basically no reception.

A lovely place to eat, with very nice food and excellent service. It’s dog friendly, has a car park, a pool table and a regular pub quiz, and does a Sunday carvery. They’re now serving breakfast on Fridays and Saturdays too 😋. It was very nice, cooked just right, and made a lovely weekend treat 🤗.

Found this at the last minute when I wanted to do a little road trip around Wales. The blue light discount brought the room to about £60 for the night, a real bargain when everywhere else seemed so expensive. The room had everything I needed: it was clean, spacious and comfortable, with tea and coffee, and a TV. Self check-in was easy, and there was plenty of parking. I’ll come back next time I’m in that part of Wales.

I used to love coming here, but the food has been shocking since the chef left. It’s expensive for such poor quality. My food was cold and undercooked, and there was a hair in my wife’s meal. The bar staff were extremely rude and unprofessional, especially the older woman with black hair. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time or money here. I can’t reply to your comment below, but it sounds like you’re calling me a liar. The food came out freezing cold, which is why I left it. I tried telling a staff member, but they were rude and arrogant when I did. £19.95 for brisket that was clearly microwaved is extortionate. We’re not friends with the ex employee you mentioned. If you can’t take criticism, I’m afraid you’re in the wrong business.
