The woman behind the bar was incredibly nice, and we enjoyed a great meal that was good value. I was last here more than 40 years ago for the Man v horse race, so it was fun seeing all the photos on the walls.

There were about 26 of us on this rambling holiday, and we all had a brilliant stay. The hotel looks a bit tired, but it's clean and the service is excellent. We started each day with tasty, huge breakfasts, had packed lunches, then came back for tea and cake at 4 pm and delicious three course dinners with loads of variety. Fresh towels every day were an unexpected bonus. I'd definitely come again and recommend this little gem.

It's a special place, seemingly frozen in time. Hope it stays that way. Good beer, pub food and plenty of history. Places like this need preserving at all costs.

We stopped for dinner on our way home from a break in south Wales. The welcome was lovely, and the old pub is beautiful. Home cooked food, served warm and at a great price. Would definitely recommend ☺️

A great last minute find in the middle of Wales, with a really warm welcome. We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast at the bar and restaurant on site. The rooms are quirky and old fashioned, but comfortable and clean. Fantastic character here, and we'll definitely come back.
